Federalism

These articles were sent to me by a friend. They are really good. Education is the key to restoring our country to its founding. The progressive left is pushing transformation. Their man, President Obama is moving things at a rapid rate. True Americans need to get educated and support the restoration of the Consititution and the system of federalism. We say limited government, power of the people, and liberty. I agree with Rob Bishop that federalism accomplishes all of these. Take a read:

  1. What Rob Bishop says about federalism makes a lot of sense. It's easy to see how allowing change to occur state by state is better for the country, because it occurs slower and reflects the minds of the people who live there more closely.

However, I don't think democrats would agree that federalism favors them at all. Since most states are red and not blue, and they have an easier time influencing washington and judges than they do the people, such as in the cases of gay rights, abortion, and government health care.

Another problem is that local officials are often just as unaccountable as federal ones. The main reason for this is that the majority of voters are uninformed about who their representatives are and what they have done.

Something needs to be done about the general apathy towards politics that exists in our country. I think the more informed people are, the more accountable both state and federal governments will be. Plus, the democratic leadership with the assistance of the mainstream media are very good at keeping their own voters in the dark about their true objectives and covering up their past mistakes. So the more information you share with nonconservatives, the less they will like what the democrats in Washington have been doing.

  2. Clarisse, Thank you for commenting. No else does. I wanted this to be a discussion.

The process would be slower. The nice thing is if one state if failing residents could move and get out from under the failed policies of that state. Californians leave the state now under the failing Democrat led government. But they don't escape the federal government taxes and regulation, which makes state taxes and regulation look tiny.

As I said in the post, I agree that education is the key to reform and restoration. Rush Limbaugh today said the Republicans need to be the party of "no" and the party of "know" for this year and specifically the campaign and election this fall. We must be watchful of lame duck legislation that is radical and spread the word. Fell free to share my blog with friends. I still restrict comments though to accepted people.
